Giedo closes in on championship title
Giedo van der Garde dominated the second race at Le Mans from start to finish. The P1 Motorsport driver got the lead in the race already at the start and managed to keep everyone behind him until the finishline. With his victory Giedo is extremely close to winning the World Series by Renault.

Giedo van der Garde: “I really had to fight hard for this victory. I had a great start and managed to stay well on the pace. After my pitstop I was in some traffic and lost a lot of time so Carbone and Guerrieri could close in again.
“It's great to win a race again but it is unfortunate that I couldn't score any points in the first race due to a gearbox failure. In Estoril we'll continue to race for the championship and hopefully we can throw in a great party there!”
Giedo leads the championship with 53 points over Fabio Carbone.
