Van der Garde: “A second place in Monaco is a good result really. We score the points we need to extend the lead in the championship and that is all that matters. It was actually a bit of a boring race. We started the race behind the safety car and also finished the race behind the safety car. I tried to overtake Charles (Pic) once but it was quiet a risk. I didn’t want to risk my second place so I brought the car home savely.
“The car wasn’t perfect at the start of the race but it got better and better fortunately. Around the end of the race I managed to close my three seconds gap on Pic. The next race will be at Silverstone and I can’t wait to go there. Silverstone is a great circuit to race at.”
